When you say the word grief people often run for the hills.   Few relish loss—a process that requires allowing painful things to be just that, painful. Paradoxically, only once grief has been allowed to run its course does it begin to abate.  Yet grief is often a precursor to change and growth.  In Greek mythology the hero Theseus rescued himself from the labyrinth of the Minotaur by following a red thread given him by Ariadne, the goddess of weaving.  It is this red thread--of fate, of birth, of life--that assists and leads us through the keen mental suffering of grief.  Red Thread; Good Grief examines this thread that steers, accompanies and illuminates through the darkness of loss.
